Have You Seen These Rainbow Trees?!

Okay – these are freaking rad. I remember when I went to sixth grade camp, I saw the infamous “bubble gum” tree which was nothing more than a tree with pivots in it that oddly smelled of bubble gum. Super weird, but, really neat. However – I think this one might top the bubble gum tree. This beauty pictured is the “rainbow tree” and grow in warmer climates like Indonesia or southern parts of China. They grow up to 240 feet tall (24 stories!1!!1) and naturally grow like that.

So what makes the “rainbow” colors you ask? Well, it’s simply the bark. The youngest bark shoots out in a green color and then it matures through a handful of color shades like purple, orange and maroon as it grows older. The tree continues to grow and thus, it makes that rainbow color scheme. Pretty neat, right?

Even more odd is it’s a simple eucalyptus tree – like the many we have here in the states and the many that make me sneeze and wheeze and my eyes water uncontrollably, haha. So, I guess it’s better for my health to look at these trees through their beautiful pictures because I’m pretty sure if I was standing within 100 yards of one, I’d be sneezing like my nose was going to fall off, lol.
